Key Responsibilities:

As a Bus Driver, your main duties will include safely transporting passengers on designated routes around Cape Town. You’ll be responsible for adhering to all traffic regulations and ensuring that your passengers enjoy a comfortable and reliable journey.

• Bus Driving Across Cape Town: Safely and efficiently drive buses on pre-determined routes around the city, ensuring passengers reach their destinations on time.
• Passenger Safety and Comfort: Maintain a high level of safety and customer service at all times. Help passengers board and exit the bus safely and provide assistance when necessary.
• Vehicle Maintenance Checks: Perform basic checks on the bus before and after each shift to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition. Report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Compliance with Traffic Regulations: Adhere to all road traffic laws and the company’s safety policies.
• Professionalism: Maintain a professional and friendly attitude towards passengers, ensuring a pleasant journey experience.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

To be considered for the role, you must meet the following requirements:

• Valid South African Driving Licence: You must hold either a C (Code 11) or EC (Code 14) driving licence.
• Professional Driving Permit (PrDP): A valid PrDP is mandatory, and it must remain valid for at least four months from the time of application.
• Educational Background:
  • Grade 10 or Grade 11 with at least 3 years of driving experience.
  • Grade 12 (Matric) with at least 2 years of driving experience.
• Driving Experience: Experience must involve driving vehicles licensed under C (Code 11) or EC (Code 14) categories.
• Training Program: You must attend and complete a compulsory paid training program that lasts a maximum of 12 weeks. This will help you familiarize yourself with company policies, bus operations, and passenger service standards.

Skills and Competencies Needed:

• Good Driving Record: A clean driving record with no major accidents or traffic violations.
• Customer Service Skills: Ability to interact professionally with passengers and provide assistance when necessary.
• Time Management: Punctuality and the ability to manage time effectively during busy routes.
• Safety Awareness: Strong focus on safety for both passengers and fellow road users.
• Attention to Detail: The ability to perform vehicle checks, follow schedules, and fill out any necessary paperwork accurately.
