Job Overview:

As a Petroleum Tanker Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating ultra-heavy-duty vehicles while transporting petroleum products. This is a crucial role that requires attention to safety, precision, and excellent documentation handling.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Education: Grade 12 (Matric) / National Certificate (NQF level 4) or Grade 10 (NQF level 2).
  • License: Code EC with a valid PrDP – “D” for dangerous goods vehicles.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience as a petroleum driver.
  • Safety Record: A clean driving and criminal record is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Vehicle Preparation: Ensure the vehicle is ready for each trip.
  • Vehicle Operation: Safely operate ultra-heavy-duty vehicles in accordance with company standards.
  • Vehicle Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections before and after each trip.
  • Documentation: Manage and handle all documentation from dispatch, delivery to the customer, and back to the depot.
  • Roadworthiness: Take full responsibility for the vehicle’s roadworthiness upon departure.
  • Accountability: Ensure that all goods being transported are delivered safely and accounted for.
  • Work Schedule: Be willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Compliance: Follow all reasonable instructions given by supervisors and adhere to company policies.
