Position Overview

RCL Milling is seeking a reliable and skilled Code 10 Driver (Rigid) to join our team in Pretoria. This role involves transporting goods safely and efficiently, operating vehicles with a gross weight not exceeding 16,000 kg, and ensuring compliance with all required documentation and safety standards.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
• Valid Code 10 driver’s license with a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
  • PrDP “D” required for operating Dangerous Goods (Code 14 is advantageous).
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating heavy vehicles.

• Preparedness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Operations:

• Prepare the vehicle for trips, ensuring it is in roadworthy condition.
• Safely operate rigid heavy-duty vehicles according to company standards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance.

Goods Handling:

• Transport goods, products, or materials to specified destinations promptly.
• Ensure accurate documentation is completed from dispatch to customer delivery and back to the distribution centre.
• Account for all goods being transported and verify their safe delivery.

Compliance and Safety:

• Take full responsibility for the roadworthiness of the vehicle before leaving the depot.
• Adhere to all company safety procedures and road regulations.
• Follow reasonable instructions from the supervisor to ensure operational efficiency.
