Job Overview

As an Ultra-heavy Motor Vehicle Driver, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods while upholding the company’s commitment to excellence and safety. Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

1. Education and Licensing:
   • Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate).
   • Valid Code EC Driver’s License with a current PrDP (Professional Driving Permit).
2. Experience:
   • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating Ultra-heavy vehicles.
   • Proven track record of 3 years driving Superlink, Interlink, or combination vehicles.
3. Skills and Attributes:
   • Knowledge of defensive driving techniques.
   • Familiarity with vehicle inspection processes and the operation of fire extinguishers.
   • Strong understanding of vehicle loading and offloading procedures.
   • Ability to maximize vehicle cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
4. Other Requirements:
   • Preparedness to work weekends, public holidays, and shifts as needed.
   • Access to reliable transport for commuting to and from work.
   • A clean criminal record.
   • Medically fit for the physical demands of the role.

Key Responsibilities

As a valued member of the team, your daily duties will include:

• Vehicle Preparation and Operations:
  • Ensure the vehicle is prepared for trips, including inspections and maintenance checks.
  • Safely operate Ultra-heavy vehicles, adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
• Transportation and Delivery:
  • Load and offload vehicles efficiently and securely to prevent damage to goods.
  • Transport goods to designated locations while meeting delivery deadlines.
• Documentation and Communication:
  • Handle and manage delivery documentation accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and clients as required.

• Compliance and Safety:
  • Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
  • Maintain a safe driving record and report any emergencies, defects, or irregularities immediately.
  • Keep vehicles clean and in optimal condition, ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Additional Responsibilities:
  • Successfully complete company-required training and evaluations, including:
    • Medical evaluations.
    • Induction processes.
    • Practical driving assessments.
    • USCS (Ultra-heavy Safe Conduct Standards) training modules.
  • Follow any reasonable instructions provided by the supervisor to maintain operational efficiency.
