Job Overview
Lactalis SA is seeking a Code 14 Tanker Driver to join the Tankers Department at our Bonnievale Plant, located in the Western Cape. This is a permanent position within our operations team, offering a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment.

As part of your role, you will manage the safe and efficient transportation of milk between farms and plants. The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of experience as a tanker driver in an FMCG environment, along with a valid PrDP and Code 14 driver’s license.

You must also demonstrate excellent knowledge of food safety, adhere to health and safety policies, and have the ability to work flexible hours.

Key Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a tanker driver in an FMCG environment.
• Licenses: Valid PrDP and Code 14 driver’s license.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work long-distance routes, shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime.
• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and English communication skills.
• Health & Safety: Must be medically fit according to Occupational Health and Safety standards and comfortable working at heights.

Primary Responsibilities
Your daily duties will include:

1. Milk Sampling and Evaluation:
   • Collect and evaluate milk samples for quality and safety compliance.
   • Conduct alliserol tests on farms and monitor milk temperature.
2. Vehicle and Equipment Management:
   • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
   • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of vehicles and equipment.
   • Safely hook and unhook trailers, ensuring they are parked securely.
3. Milk Loading and Transportation:
   • Load milk at farms and plants while managing documentation such as load sheets, receipts, and instructions.
   • Properly couple hoses, pump milk, and avoid overfilling tanks.
   • Ensure safe and professional driving practices at all times.

1. Continuous Improvement:
   • Support initiatives related to food safety, NOSA standards, and operational excellence.
   • Report any deviations or issues to the supervisor promptly.
