Job Summary:
Unitrans is seeking experienced and professional Bus Drivers to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting passengers on scheduled routes, ensuring timely arrivals at destinations. The role involves controlling lighting, heating, and ventilation for passenger comfort while adhering to safety and traffic regulations.

We require candidates with the appropriate driving license, a PrDP, and a solid understanding of defensive driving techniques to ensure passenger safety. This position is under a restricted commercial contract, not subsidized by the government.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transport passengers safely and efficiently on designated routes, maintaining prescribed speeds and ensuring punctual arrivals.
• Monitor and control bus comfort features such as lighting, heating, and ventilation for passenger satisfaction.
• Adhere strictly to traffic laws and company policies to avoid accidents and infractions.
• Conduct thorough bus inspections to identify defects and report any deviations or malfunctions promptly.
• Participate in ongoing training and safety sessions, including HST regulations and DSS discussions with supervisors.
• Maintain accurate logs and reports of activities, incidents, and any damage incurred during the trip.
• Adhere to company protocols for stops, routes, and passenger management, including not deviating from prescribed routes or stopping at unauthorized locations.
• Always ensure the vehicle is well-maintained, clean, and fueled, and report any vehicle issues to the supervisor.
• Practice safe driving habits and prioritize the safety of passengers and other road users.

Minimum Requirements:

• Qualification: Grade 12 and job-specific driver training.
• Driver’s License: CE – G, CE – PG, and C – G.
• Experience: At least 5 years of driving experience in a similar position, with a proven track record of safety and reliability.

Additional Requirements:

• Familiarity with Unitrans Passenger rules and regulations.
• Ability to read and understand the driver’s manual, safety policies, and HST regulations.
• Strong commitment to maintaining safety standards and following company policies.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and safety programs.
• A valid driving license and RAC2 card are mandatory.
