Job Overview:
Air Products South Africa is looking for three experienced Code 14 Truck Drivers to join our Packaged Gas division in Kempton Park. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery and collection of liquefied or gaseous products in cylinders and Minitanks to customers and company facilities. If you have a strong background in heavy-duty driving, particularly in the transportation of dangerous goods, this opportunity is for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance.
- Safely load, transport, and unload gas cylinders at assigned destinations.
- Maintain cleanliness and general housekeeping of the truck.
- Adhere strictly to SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality) regulations and company standards.
- Ensure the accurate completion of delivery paperwork and reports on vehicle fitness.
- Handle cylinders with care and ensure proper securing to prevent damage or accidents.
- Perform general ad hoc duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- Valid EC (Code 14) driver’s license with an unendorsed Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
- Forklift license (valid and up to date).
- Valid Dangerous Goods Certificate.
- Minimum of 5 years of heavy-duty truck driving experience.
- Proven experience in the transportation and handling of hazardous materials.
- Must be medically fit to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime when required.
- Must have reliable transport to and from work.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
