Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering glass products to our customers efficiently and maintaining the highest standards of service quality. This role requires a strong understanding of road networks, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery and Collection:
- Deliver, collect, and return glass products to and from various customers.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Vehicle Maintenance:
- Maintain the cleanliness and roadworthiness of the vehicle.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any faults immediately.
- Documentation:
- Complete daily trip sheets, quality check sheets, and other required paperwork accurately.
- Assist with the control of delivery and collection paperwork.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to environmental, safety, and housekeeping standards.
- Follow all work instructions, standard operating procedures, and business rules.
- Customer Interaction:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
- Represent the company professionally at all times.
- Additional Duties:
- Load and offload glass products safely.
- Assist with other tasks as requested by the Factory Services Manager.
Requirements
- Education:
- Matric (Grade 12) certificate.
- Licensing:
- Valid Code 10 (or higher) driver’s license with a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
- Experience:
- At least 2 years of driving experience (preferred).
- Experience in handling and transporting dangerous goods.
- Knowledge of glass handling and quality control.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- High levels of physical and mental energy.
- Other:
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and rotating shifts.
- Honest, trustworthy, and detail-oriented.
