Storeman and Driver Vacancy in Howick

Voltex is seeking a motivated and reliable Storeman + Code 10 Driver to join its Howick branch. This dual-role position combines warehouse operations with delivery responsibilities, making it ideal for candidates with experience in stock handling, warehousing, and customer deliveries.

The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse while providing excellent delivery service to customers.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12 qualification (mandatory).
• Valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence (mandatory).
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) (mandatory).
• Minimum of 3 years’ driving experience.
• Familiarity with GPS navigation devices.
• Knowledge of road safety regulations.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Advantageous Experience

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a warehouse or stock-handling environment.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control.
• Understanding of workplace safety standards and protective equipment requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations (Storeman Duties)

• Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse.
• Ensure stock is stored in the correct bin locations.
• Label inventory accurately and maintain stock identification systems.
• Assist with receiving, checking, and storing incoming stock.
• Pick and prepare stock for customer orders.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and stock verification activities.
• Assist with stocktake preparation and execution.
• Investigate stock discrepancies and report findings to management.
• Support other departments during operational backlogs when required.

Delivery and Driver Duties

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and ensure roadworthiness before each trip.
• Report vehicle defects, incidents, or accidents immediately.
• Plan delivery routes using GPS and navigation tools.
• Load stock according to delivery schedules and dispatch documentation.
• Verify that loaded stock matches delivery notes before departure.
• Deliver goods safely and efficiently to customers.
• Obtain customer signatures and proof of delivery documentation.
• Submit all completed delivery reports and administrative documents.
• Resolve customer delivery-related queries professionally.
• Maintain the cleanliness and condition of the delivery vehicle.
• Monitor vehicle service intervals and report upcoming maintenance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with all road traffic, safety, and security regulations.
