Job Overview

Royal Bafokeng Administration is recruiting 8 Waste Collection Drivers to join its waste management team in Rustenburg. The successful candidates will be responsible for operating waste collection vehicles safely and efficiently while ensuring the timely collection, transportation, and disposal of waste throughout the Royal Bafokeng Nation.

This role plays an important part in maintaining a clean, healthy, and environmentally sustainable community by delivering reliable waste management services in line with municipal, environmental, and occupational health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate waste collection vehicles on assigned routes.
• Collect, transport, and dispose of waste according to approved procedures.
• Ensure waste collection services are completed efficiently and on schedule.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Report vehicle defects, breakdowns, and safety concerns promptly.
• Comply with road traffic legislation and occupational health and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate trip and operational records.
• Work closely with waste collection teams to deliver efficient services.
• Keep company vehicles clean and roadworthy.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) or NQF Level 4.
• Valid Code EC (Code 14) driver’s licence.
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience operating heavy commercial vehicles.
• Experience operating refuse collection or skip trucks will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of road safety regulations and waste management procedures.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Letter from Kgosana.
