Purpose of the Role

The Fuel Distribution Officer will ensure that fuel deliveries across Sasol’s retail and commercial network are executed safely, accurately and on time, while meeting quality and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the on-time and accurate execution of fuel deliveries.
• Ensure reliable, in-full deliveries using the company fleet.
• Accurately complete loading instructions using Fuel Facs and Renaissance systems.
• Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and report any defects.
• Maintain communication with the Logistics Command Centre regarding operational deviations.
• Complete shipment documentation accurately and provide reasons for any gains or losses.
• Execute deliveries according to the prescribed delivery sequence.
• Minimise unproductive time and improve operational efficiency.
• Identify potential operational risks, including Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements, and report them to the line manager.
• Ensure all incidents are reported and logged and participate in root cause analysis (RCA).
• Prevent spillages and product contamination during fuel deliveries.
• Comply with site, operational and SHERQ requirements.
• Follow all applicable policies and procedures to ensure tasks are completed safely and accurately.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.
• Valid Code EC / Code 14 driver’s licence.
• Valid Professional Driver’s Permit (PrDP).
• Valid Dangerous Goods (DG) certification with Hazchem certification.
• 2–5 years’ driving experience within the petroleum industry.
