An opportunity has arisen for a high-calibre Tyre Bay Supervisor to monitor tyre performance on vehicles, test and compare different brands, and implement tyre recipes. The role controls tyre bay stock, monitors tyre wear on prime movers and trailers and instructs on changing, and supervises and controls the activities of Tyre Bay Assistants (tyre pressure, fitting of wheels and tyres, et cetera). The incumbent keeps tyre records up to date and ensures that documentation, issue vouchers and invoices are processed and authorised daily.

Minimum Requirements

• 10 years plus direct tyre cost management.

• Exposure to various new brands.

• Exposure to various retread brands.

• Exposure to tyre CPK management.

• New and retread tyre management courses.

• Track record in tyre manufacturing companies.

• CPK calculation and analysis.

• Tyre selection per application.

• Tyre scrapping knowledge.

• Tyre tread selection knowledge.

• Tyre surveys and reporting.

• Tyre life prediction and projection.

• Supplier set-up and control.

• Training and educating of fellow employees.

• Report writing.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day activities of the tyre bay area.

• Manage a team of tyre technicians or fitters to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

• Prepare tyre reports for management.

• Control the tyre bay stock.

• Monitor tyre wear on prime movers and trailers and instruct on changing.

• Supervise and control the activities of Tyre Bay Assistants (tyre pressure, fitting of wheels and tyres, et cetera).

• Keep tyre records up to date.

• Ensure that documentation is well completed.

• Issue tyre requisition vouchers and ensure invoices are processed and authorised daily.

• Conduct tyre stock counts (daily, weekly and monthly).

• Receive and issue tyres on the system (Evolve).

• Monitor reorder levels.

• Be on standby for issuing tyres from stock outside working hours, weekends and holidays.

• Oversee the scrapping process.
