As part of our dedicated team, you will contribute to delivering exceptional customer service by ensuring explosives are delivered safely, accurately, and on time to various client locations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Delivery and Customer Interaction
- Ensure on-time delivery to customers within allocated time slots, as specified by the Chief Inspector of Explosives.
- Adhere to traffic laws and CIE (Chief Inspector of Explosives) regulations, including an 80 km/h speed limit.
- Safely coordinate the offloading of explosives at customer sites.
- Verify the integrity of seals on explosive products and match them with delivery documents.
- Assist customers in offloading products safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all delivery documentation is signed and promptly returned for invoicing.
2. Vehicle Maintenance and Safety
- Perform daily pre-trip vehicle inspections using the designated checklist.
- Ensure compliance with fire extinguisher regulations and vehicle licensing requirements.
- Maintain a valid explosives operator’s card.
3. Compliance and Reporting
- Adhere to all hazardous material (Hazchem) handling and emergency response protocols.
- Report any irregularities or concerns regarding explosives handling to the appropriate authorities.
Minimum Requirements
Education and Licensing
- Grade 12 qualification.
- Valid Code 10 (C1) Driver’s License.
- Valid Dangerous Goods Permit.
Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supply chain or explosives-related environment.
- Proven expertise in handling explosives and emergency processes.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
