We are committed to offering excellent service to our clients, ensuring on-time delivery while upholding safety and efficiency standards. We are currently seeking Code 10 Drivers to join our dedicated team in Cape Town CBD.
Main Purpose of the Job
The primary purpose of this position is to provide safe, prompt, and efficient delivery services to our valued clients. Drivers are responsible for ensuring that goods are delivered without breakages or shortages while maintaining the integrity and functionality of the assigned vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
As a driver, your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Goods Delivery and Handling
- Deliver goods to clients promptly and efficiently.
- Ensure that all goods are handled with care to prevent damages and breakages.
- Verify that the vehicle is neatly packed to optimise space and protect items during transit.
- Supervise and assist with the loading and unloading of goods.
2. Vehicle Maintenance and Safety
- Conduct daily inspection checks on the assigned vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Report any defects or mechanical issues promptly to the supervisor or fleet manager.
- Maintain the cleanliness and roadworthiness of the vehicle.
- Ensure all safety protocols are adhered to while driving and handling goods.
3. Cost Management
- Strive to reduce operational costs associated with vehicle use, such as fuel consumption and wear and tear.
4. Documentation and Reporting
- Ensure all delivery notes are authorised and signed upon delivery.
- Accurately record all collected cash-on-delivery (COD) payments and submit them to the relevant department.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and provide reports as required.
5. Customer Service
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries.
- Address customer concerns promptly and escalate unresolved issues to management.
- Uphold and promote the company’s values and culture during all client interactions.
Job Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Education
- Grade 12 (Matric).
Licensing
- A valid Code 10 driver’s licence (Heavy Vehicles: 3501 – 9000 kg).
- Code 8 licence holders (Light Vehicles) with relevant experience may also be considered.
Experience
- A minimum of 2 years’ relevant driving experience in logistics or a similar environment.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Good communication skills to engage professionally with clients and colleagues.
