Job Summary

As a Professional Bus Driver, you will be responsible for transporting passengers on scheduled services over established routes. Your role includes ensuring passenger safety, maintaining vehicle standards, and adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role is crucial in ensuring that passengers arrive safely and on time, making a significant contribution to the overall success of the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Passenger Transport: Drive a bus to transport passengers safely on scheduled routes.
• Vehicle Operation: Control lighting, heating, and ventilation for passenger comfort. Inspect the bus for deviations or malfunctions, reporting any issues to your supervisor.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to traffic laws, maintain a clean driving record, and practice defensive driving techniques to avoid accidents.
• Customer Service: Maintain a positive attitude towards passengers, ensuring a professional and courteous experience.
• Documentation: Complete log books accurately, record and report any incidents or accidents, and ensure all paperwork is up to date.
• Regulatory Compliance: Follow all company rules, regulations, and safety procedures. Participate in training sessions and adhere to the company’s code of conduct.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent National Certificate.
• Licenses: Valid Public Services Driving License (PG), with driver’s license categories CE – G, CE – PG, and C – G.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position.
• Skills: Mastery of defensive driving techniques and a strong understanding of traffic laws.
