Unitrans is seeking a highly skilled and responsible Code 14 Driver to join our team in Rustenburg. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe and efficient transport of goods while maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence and compliance with road safety standards. Key Requirements

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Education: Grade 12 (National Certificate).
• Licensing: Possess a valid Code EC (Code 14) driver’s license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating Ultra-heavy vehicles.
  • At least 3 years’ experience driving Superlink, Interlink, or other heavy-duty vehicle combinations.

• Skills and Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in defensive driving techniques.
  • Understanding of vehicle inspection processes and emergency response procedures, including the use of fire extinguishers.
  • Knowledge of cargo loading and offloading techniques.
  • Ability to maximise vehicle efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Additional Requirements:
  • Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Reliable personal transport to and from work.
  • Clean criminal record.
  • Medically fit for duties related to ultra-heavy vehicle operation.

Primary Responsibilities

As an Ultra-heavy Motor Vehicle Driver, your responsibilities will include:

1. Vehicle Operations:
   • Preparing and operating ultra-heavy-duty vehicles for transportation tasks.
   • Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and functionality.
   • Safely transporting goods to various destinations while adhering to delivery schedules.
2. Cargo Management:
   • Loading and offloading goods using proper techniques to ensure cargo integrity.
   • Handling delivery documentation, including invoices and trip logs, with precision.
3. Safety and Compliance:
   • Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company safety policies at all times.
   • Maintaining a clean driving record and reporting vehicle defects or emergencies promptly.
   • Keeping vehicles, uniforms, and personal protective equipment (PPE) in excellent condition.
4. Additional Duties:
   • Following reasonable instructions from supervisors.
   • Actively participating in training and induction processes, including:
     • Medical evaluations.
     • USCS training modules.
     • Practical driving assessments.
   • Ensuring compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
