About the Role

Motus Hino Parow is seeking a dedicated and responsible Code 14 Driver to join our team. Reporting directly to the Manager: New Vehicles, this role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about transportation, values professionalism, and is committed to maintaining high standards in vehicle handling and customer service.

As a Heavy-Duty Driver, you will be responsible for the safe transportation of trucks, vehicle maintenance, and assisting with additional tasks that support operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include but are not limited to:

1. Transportation and Delivery:
   • Collect and deliver trucks to suppliers, customers, branches, or other destinations as required.
   • Ensure all vehicles are delivered in optimal condition, free from damage during transit.
   • Assist customers during truck deliveries, offering exceptional service and professionalism.
2. Vehicle Maintenance:
   • Conduct daily inspections to check for damages, defects, and roadworthiness of vehicles.
   • Start at least five trucks daily to maintain battery charge and ensure operational readiness.
3. Reporting and Compliance:
   • Promptly report any accidents, traffic offenses, or vehicle damages to the Manager.
   • Ensure compliance with traffic laws and company safety regulations at all times.

1. General Yard and Operational Support:
   • Keep the truck yard tidy, litter-free, and neatly maintained.
   • Handle tasks such as raising and lowering flags, managing traffic department drop-offs and collections, and assisting with driver training sessions as needed.
   • Complete errands, including banking and shopping, as assigned by the department.
2. Inspection and Issue Resolution:
   • Examine new and used vehicles for damages, defects, or missing parts such as spare wheels or tools.
   • Report any identified issues to the Manager immediately.
3. Teamwork and Flexibility:
   • Be prepared to work overtime, including weekends and public holidays, as required by the department.
   • Undertake any other reasonable duties assigned by the Manager or department to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications and Experience

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Minimum Grade 12 qualification.
• Licenses: Valid EC1/EC driver’s license and a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• Experience: Proven experience as a heavy-duty driver will be an advantage.
• Clear Record: A clean criminal record is mandatory.
