Key Responsibilities

As a Code 14 driver, your role will involve several critical duties, including but not limited to:

  1. Vehicle Operation
    • Efficiently and safely operate Code 14 vehicles, including link trucks and side tippers.
    • Follow all driving protocols to ensure vehicle safety and avoid accidents.
    • Navigate routes carefully, taking into account road safety regulations and time constraints.
  2. Loading and Offloading
    • Assist with the proper loading and offloading of goods in a secure manner.
    • Ensure the cargo is well-balanced and complies with all safety and legal standards to prevent road hazards.
  3. Route Compliance
    • Follow designated routes and schedules as instructed by the logistics or dispatch team.
    • Ensure all cross-border paperwork is in place and meet customs requirements when necessary.
  4. Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records, including delivery logs, daily vehicle inspection reports, and other paperwork as required.
    • Report any incidents, damages, or delays immediately to the Depot Manager.
  5. Vehicle Maintenance
    • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
    • Report any maintenance needs promptly to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition.
  6. Customer Interaction
    • Deliver excellent customer service by handling goods carefully and professionally interacting with clients during deliveries.

Job Requirements

To qualify for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years’ link driving experience.
    • At least 2 years’ experience with side tippers.
  • Licensing:
    • Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s license.
    • Professional Driving Permit (PDP) that is valid for more than three months.
  • Additional Documents:
    • Valid passport (cross-border experience is an advantage).
    • Clear criminal record.
  • South African Citizenship:
    • Only applicants with South African citizenship will be considered for this position.
  • Physical and Health Requirements:
