Key Responsibilities
1. Morning Operations
- Assist dispatch to ensure trucks are loaded and depart on schedule.
- Verify the presence of all drivers and van assistants; arrange cover for absenteeism.
- Share daily updates via WhatsApp, including details on cut orders, absenteeism, late deliveries, and driver changes.
- Conduct and report crate counts; check and validate crate sheets.
- Collaborate with the sales manager to address operational issues and plan accordingly.
- Liaise with customers and sales teams regarding second deliveries.
2. Afternoon Operations
- Conduct handover meetings with the morning Driver Supervisor to ensure continuity.
- Oversee second deliveries, ensuring timely departures.
- Reverify earlier crate counts and validate crate sheet accuracy.
- Train new drivers on proper procedures and operational standards.
- Ensure drivers place customer orders before completing cash-ups.
- Remain on-site until all trucks return and cash deposits are completed.
3. Route and Sales Management
- Conduct route rides and complete detailed route ride analysis forms, providing feedback to management.
- Perform sales analysis and create plans to improve sales and distribution.
- Visit schools on routes to encourage participation in competitions.
- Secure at least five new customers during each route ride.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Good numeracy skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in tasks such as counting and reporting.
- Excellent customer orientation and the ability to take initiative.
- Integrity and the ability to work under pressure.
Experience
- Proven competence in supervision, with experience managing teams.
- Valid Code 10 or 14 Driver’s License with PDP.
- Experience in customer-facing roles is advantageous.
General Requirements
- Willingness to work weekends and public holidays as needed.
- Availability to work overtime when required.
- Expected to be on standby to provide support during absenteeism or emergencies.
