Job Summary

As a Truck Driver Trainer (Training Specialist), you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive product training and driving best practices, including Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) training, for drivers and external customers. Reporting to the Technical Training Supervisor, you will ensure that all training is aligned with Air Products SA and global policies and standards. This role is crucial in maintaining high standards of driver competency and safety within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Delivery: Deliver and maintain the Driver Curriculum Training through both paper-based and eLearning systems.
  • Training & Assessment: Conduct classroom and practical training sessions for drivers and operators, ensuring thorough assessment and compliance with technical training procedures.
  • Support & Documentation: Provide support to the Bulk Distribution Technical Training team, update and maintain training plans, and keep accurate records in both electronic and paper formats.
  • Continuous Improvement: Act as a champion for continuous improvement initiatives and BSP (Behavioral Safety Process) within the training programs.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: A Grade 12/ Matric qualification is essential. A formal training qualification, along with Assessor and Moderator qualifications in Driver Training, is highly desirable.
  • License: A valid, unendorsed Code EC driver’s license with Dangerous Goods (PrDPd) endorsement is required.
  • Experience:
    • At least 3-5 years of experience in the Gas Industry or Manufacturing/Petro Chemical industries.
    • A minimum of 5-8 years of experience as a Technical Trainer or Truck Driver Trainer.
    • Experience in Cryogenic, CO2, and Packed Gas cylinder fill operations is an added advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel and Outlook, is essential.
  • Attention to Detail: The ability to work with accuracy and maintain high standards of documentation and training quality is critical.
