Position Overview
An exciting opportunity exists for a Driver Trainer to join our team. The role involves delivering in-house training to enhance the skills of employees, conducting practical driver assessments, and contributing to the ongoing professional development of our team. You’ll play a key role in promoting safety, operational excellence, and leadership development.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct practical driver skills assessments for prospective employees.
- Assist in incident/accident investigations, providing insights to enhance driver performance and prevent future occurrences.
- Identify training needs from incidents/accidents and recommend retraining or upskilling where required.
- Deliver comprehensive training sessions, ensuring that learners understand and apply the course content effectively.
- Perform on-route driver evaluations and in-cab assessments to monitor and improve driving standards.
- Collaborate with the HRD Coordinator to develop and implement short- and long-term training plans tailored to business needs.
- Facilitate refresher courses and developmental programmes to ensure drivers meet and exceed performance standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Educational Qualification:
- Grade 12/Matric or equivalent (NQF Level 4).
- Experience:
- Up to 5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within the logistics or transport sector.
- Skills:
- Assertiveness and confidence to lead sessions effectively.
- Strong self-motivation and ability to inspire and guide others.
- Effective time management to balance training schedules with operational needs.
