Introduction:

We have two temporary vacancies in our Packaged Gas department at the Sishen-Khathu facility. These roles report directly to the Facility Foreman. We are seeking qualified candidates who meet the role’s requirements.

Job Description:

As a Cylinder Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and reliable delivery and collection of Packaged Gas to and from customer sites. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Performing pre- and post-journey vehicle checks.
• Loading and offloading gas cylinders.
• Ensuring the safe and efficient delivery and collection of cylinders at designated locations.
• Maintaining proper housekeeping and handling general ad hoc tasks.
• Adhering to SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality) standards.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Grade 12 certificate.
• License: Valid, unendorsed Code 14/EC Drivers License with PrDP.
• Forklift License: Must have a valid Forklift licence.
• Certification: Must hold a valid Dangerous Goods Certificate.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of heavy-duty driving experience.
• Transport: Must have reliable personal transport.
• Experience: Must be experienced in the transportation and handling of Dangerous Goods.
• Physical Fitness: Must be medically fit to perform physical work.
• Availability: Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime when required.
• Reporting: Ability to produce written reports on vehicle fitness and delivery paperwork.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
