Job Advert Summary:

Are you an experienced code 14 truck driver looking for a seasonal opportunity? RCL Malalane Inbound is seeking a professional driver to operate vehicles with a gross vehicle mass or gross combination mass of up to 56,000 kg. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods within the agriculture sector.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4.
• License: Code 14/EC with PrDP (Professional Driving Permit) – “D” if required to operate a Dangerous Goods (DG) vehicle.
• Experience: Up to 3 years of experience in ultra-heavy motor vehicle driving.
• Clean Record: Safe driving record and clean criminal record.
• Skills: Defensive driving techniques, adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and safety procedures.
• Compliance: Must successfully complete the following:
  • Medical evaluation.
  • USCS training modules.
  • Induction processes.
  • Practical driving evaluation.
  • Verification of a clean criminal record.
  • Vehicle inspections and operating a fire extinguisher.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Trip Preparation: Ensure the vehicle is fully prepared for trips, conducting pre-trip inspections to verify roadworthiness.
• Vehicle Operation: Operate ultra-heavy-duty vehicles safely, adhering to all traffic laws and company guidelines.
• Vehicle Inspection: Perform thorough vehicle inspections before and after each trip, identifying and reporting any issues.
• Goods Management: Load, transport, and offload goods, ensuring all items are accounted for and secured before departure.
• Customer Interaction: Engage with customers professionally, handling all documentation from dispatch to delivery and back to the distribution centre.
• Roadworthiness & Compliance: Take full responsibility for the vehicle’s roadworthiness when departing from the depot. Ensure the vehicle is not overloaded, in compliance with the National Road Traffic Act.
• Additional Duties: Perform any other reasonable duties as instructed by management, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of operations.
