Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12 / National Certificate.
  • License: Code EC driver’s license with a valid PrDP.
  • Experience:
    • 3 years of experience driving ultra-heavy vehicles.
    • 3 years of experience with Superlink/Interlink/combination vehicles.
  • Additional Skills:
    • Defensive driving techniques.
    • Knowledge of vehicle inspections and emergency defect reporting.
    • Ability to operate a fire extinguisher.
    • Proficiency in vehicle loading and offloading techniques.
    • Ability to maximize vehicle cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Availability:
    • Willingness to work weekends and public holidays.
    • Must have reliable transport to and from work.
  • Personal Requirements:
    • Clean criminal record.
    • Medically fit.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Vehicle Operation:
    • Prepare the vehicle for trips and operate ultra-heavy-duty vehicles.
    • Safely load, transport, and offload vehicles as required.
    • Handle all necessary documentation and perform ancillary duties as needed.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety procedures.
    • Maintain a safe driving record and ensure adherence to traffic regulations.
    • Perform regular housekeeping of vehicles, uniform, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Successfully complete all required training and evaluation processes, including:
      • Medical evaluation.
      • USCS training modules.
      • Induction processes.
      • Practical driving evaluation.
      • Verification of a clean criminal record.
  • Additional Duties:
    • Follow all reasonable instructions from the supervisor.
    • Be prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
