BUCO Montague Gardens is seeking a reliable and experienced Code 10 Driver to join our dynamic team. As a driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our goods are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time to our valued customers. Your responsibility extends beyond just driving; you will be integral to the entire delivery process, from loading to customer service, ensuring that the company’s standards are upheld at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering Goods: You will be responsible for the timely and safe delivery of goods to our customers, ensuring that all deliveries are made in accordance with the company’s schedule and quality standards.
• Vehicle Packing: It is crucial that the vehicle is neatly and securely packed to prevent any damages or breakages during transit. Your attention to detail in packing will be vital in maintaining the integrity of the goods being transported.
• Damage Prevention: Actively work to prevent any damages or breakages by ensuring that the goods are handled carefully and that the vehicle is driven responsibly.
• Loading Supervision: You will supervise and assist with the loading of the vehicle, ensuring that the correct items are loaded and that they are secured properly to avoid movement during transport.
• Daily Inspection Checks: Conduct daily inspection checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. This includes checking the tires, oil, lights, and other essential vehicle functions.
• Reporting Defects: Promptly report any defects or issues with the vehicle to the relevant department to ensure that they are addressed immediately and do not affect delivery operations.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain the vehicle to ensure it is clean, well-kept, and in top operational condition. Regular maintenance will help in reducing unexpected breakdowns and extending the vehicle’s lifespan.
• Supply Accuracy: Ensure that the correct quantities and supplies are delivered according to the delivery notes. Accuracy is crucial in maintaining customer satisfaction and reducing the need for returns or additional trips.
• Cost Reduction: Actively participate in initiatives to reduce vehicle costs, including fuel efficiency, timely maintenance, and avoiding unnecessary trips.
• Delivery Notes Authorization: Handle and authorize delivery notes accurately, ensuring that all paperwork is completed properly and filed according to company policies.
• COD Collections: Collect cash-on-delivery (COD) payments from customers as required, ensuring that all monetary transactions are handled securely and accurately.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by being courteous, professional, and responsive to customer needs. You represent the company on the road and with every delivery, making customer satisfaction a top priority.

Requirements:

• Educational Qualification: Grade 12 (Matric) is essential for this role.
• Driver’s License: A valid Code 10 Heavy Vehicle (HV) driver’s license is required. Additionally, a Code 8 Light Vehicle (LV) driver’s license for vehicles under 3500 kg may be advantageous.
• Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar driving role is necessary, with a proven track record of safe and efficient driving.
