Job Overview:
Rand Water is seeking a skilled Fleet Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of heavy vehicle drivers, construction plant operators, driver aids, gang overseers, and steam cleaners. The role involves ensuring full compliance with Rand Water’s policies while maintaining effective vehicle and plant availability. The ideal candidate will focus on motivating and managing staff to meet customer needs with satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and maintain high-quality transport services.
  • Implement corrective actions for vehicle/plant damage or losses.
  • Manage charge-out systems efficiently.
  • Provide comprehensive fleet management services for Rand Water vehicles.
  • Train and mentor staff regularly.
  • Oversee fleet control and vehicle maintenance with cost-efficiency.
  • Motivate and justify budget requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Rand Water’s financial regulations.
  • Ensure accurate allocation of network numbers and budgeting.
  • Deliver detailed technical, managerial, and strategic reports and advice.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 certificate.
  • Valid Code EC driver’s license.
  • At least 2 years of experience in fleet supervision and transport environment.
  • Experience in supervising teams in a fleet environment.

Essential Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of the Road Traffic Act and AARTO regulations.
  • Knowledge of SHEQ standards (OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Maximo, and SAP.

Key Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Administrative skills, including documentation and filing.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking.
