Key Responsibilities:

1. Efficient Goods Delivery:
   • Deliver goods to various locations, ensuring that delivery times are met without compromising on safety or quality.
   • Safeguard the items being transported by packing them neatly and securely to prevent damages and breakages during transit.
2. Loading and Supervision:
   • Assist with the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring that all items are handled safely.
   • Supervise the loading process to ensure that the goods are packed correctly and according to the delivery specifications.
3. Daily Vehicle Inspections:
   • Conduct thorough daily vehicle checks before starting the delivery route. Inspections should cover the vehicle’s tires, brakes, lights, and overall roadworthiness.
   • Identify any potential issues with the vehicle and report defects or concerns immediately to the appropriate supervisor.
4. Vehicle Maintenance:
   • Maintain the vehicle in top condition by performing routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, checking oil levels, and refueling.
   • Ensure that the vehicle remains in a safe, roadworthy state, and report any technical or mechanical issues promptly.
5. Delivery Note and Documentation Handling:
   • Ensure that all deliveries are documented accurately by managing the Delivery Notes. Check that the goods being delivered match the details on the Delivery Note, and obtain signatures from customers as proof of delivery.
   • Collect cash-on-delivery (COD) payments where applicable and submit them to the supervisor upon returning to the warehouse.
6. Customer Service:
   • Provide excellent customer service by being courteous, punctual, and responsive to customer inquiries during deliveries.
   • Handle any customer concerns or complaints professionally and escalate any unresolved issues to the supervisor.
7. Cost Efficiency:
   • Minimize vehicle-related costs by driving efficiently, following the planned delivery routes, and avoiding unnecessary wear and tear on the vehicle.
   • Keep a detailed log of fuel usage and delivery times to help optimize future delivery routes and reduce expenses.
8. Safety Compliance:
   • Follow all relevant road safety laws and regulations, ensuring that deliveries are made safely.
   • Adhere to company safety policies regarding the transport and handling of goods, ensuring that both personal safety and the safety of others are prioritized.
9. Promoting Company Values:

Minimum Requirements:

1. Educational Qualifications:
   • A minimum of Grade 12 (Matric) is required for this position.
2. Driver’s License:
   • A valid Code 10 driver’s license for heavy vehicles (HV), covering vehicles with weights between 9,001 kg and 16,000 kg.
3. Experience:
   • At least 2 years of relevant driving experience is required, preferably in a similar supply chain or logistics role. Experience in delivering large or heavy items is essential.
