Key Responsibilities

As a Code 14 driver on our team, your duties will extend beyond just driving. You’ll be responsible for the safety and efficiency of each trip, ensuring compliance with all operational and safety standards.

• Adhere to all safety regulations: Maintain a strong focus on driving safety and regulatory compliance during each trip. This ensures the well-being of both the driver and the cargo.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections: Before and after each trip, you’ll conduct regular inspections to ensure the truck is in optimal working condition. This includes monitoring tire pressure, engine fluids, and overall vehicle integrity.
• Attend to minor breakdowns and maintenance: A basic understanding of truck mechanics is required, allowing you to handle minor breakdowns when necessary. This helps minimize delays and ensures smooth operations.
• Logbook management: Maintain accurate logs of all trips, fuel usage, and other critical information as per company and regulatory guidelines.

What Makes You the Ideal Candidate?

Requirements:

• Valid Code 14 Driver’s License and PrDP: Both documents must be up-to-date to ensure legal compliance for operating our vehicles.
• Extensive driving experience: You should have 5-8 years of experience in professional truck driving, preferably on long-haul routes.
• Experience with Freightliner and Superlink Tautliner combination: While not mandatory, previous experience with this type of truck is advantageous and preferred.
• Clean driving record: We maintain a high standard of safety, and your driving record must reflect this.
• South African ID: Only South African citizens will be considered for this position.
• Strong communication skills: Being able to communicate effectively with dispatch and the operations team is crucial.
• Sober habits: Safety is our top priority, and we expect all drivers to maintain professional standards both on and off the road.
