Position Overview

As an Ultra-heavy Motor Vehicle Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently, ensuring safety and compliance with all procedures. Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Minimum Grade 12 (National Certificate)
• License: Valid Code EC (Code 14) driver’s license with a valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit)

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience driving ultra-heavy vehicles.
• At least 3 years of experience with Superlink/Interlink or combination vehicles.
• Availability: Must be prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Skills:

• Defensive driving techniques.
• Knowledge of emergency reporting procedures and defect reporting.
• Expertise in vehicle inspection and operating fire extinguishers. Ability to maximize vehicle efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Proficiency in vehicle loading and offloading techniques.
• Transport: Own reliable transport to and from work.
• Fitness: Medically fit to meet the physical demands of the job.

Duties & Responsibilities

In this role, you will take on various important duties that contribute to the efficient operation of the business, including:

• Vehicle Preparation and Operation: Prepare the vehicle for trips and operate ultra-heavy-duty vehicles as per operational requirements.
• Transport and Logistics: Safely load, transport, and offload vehicles, ensuring goods are handled properly during transportation.
• Documentation and Ancillary Duties: Handle all required documentation, such as delivery notes, trip logs, and other associated paperwork.
• Follow Instructions: Carry out all reasonable instructions given by your Supervisor or Manager.
• Shift Work: Be prepared to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, to meet business needs.
• Safety and Housekeeping: Maintain a safe driving record and keep your assigned vehicle clean and in top condition. This includes housekeeping of vehicles, uniforms, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Adherence to SOPs: Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment at all times.
• Undergo Mandatory Evaluations:
• Complete a medical evaluation to ensure you meet health and safety requirements.
• Successfully finish USCS training modules to stay updated on industry standards.
• Participate in the company’s induction processes.
• Pass a practical driving evaluation to verify your competence in handling ultra-heavy vehicles.
• Undergo verification of your clean criminal record.
