Position Overview:
A well-established logistics company is looking for an experienced Code 14 Driver to join their team based in Tulisa Park, Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient distribution of goods to various clients across the region. Key Responsibilities:

• Pre-Trip Preparation: Perform thorough vehicle inspections to ensure it is in perfect working condition before starting any trip. This includes checking all vehicle components, securing loads, and following safety protocols.
• Driving and Transporting Goods: Safely operate an ultra-heavy-duty vehicle, transporting goods to designated clients while adhering to all traffic laws and company standards.
• Loading and Offloading: Supervise or assist in the loading and offloading of goods, ensuring that the cargo is handled carefully and efficiently, while also ensuring that the vehicle is not overloaded as per the National Road Traffic Act.
• Documentation Management: Accurately manage and process all delivery documentation, including dispatch notes, client receipts, and any other related paperwork.
• Customer Relations: Engage with customers in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring that all deliveries are completed to their satisfaction.
• Vehicle Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and good condition of the vehicle, as well as uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Reporting and Compliance: Report any vehicle defects, emergencies, or incidents to the supervisor, and ensure full compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safety Procedures.
• Other Duties: Follow reasonable instructions from supervisors and be flexible with shift work, including weekends and public holidays.

Minimum Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Grade 10 literacy level (both numerically and verbally literate).
• License: Valid Code EC driver’s license with a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP), preferably with a Dangerous Goods Permit (DGP).
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ experience driving ultra-heavy vehicles.
• Must be 25 years of age or older.
• Experience with vehicle loading techniques and defensive driving techniques.
• Knowledge of vehicle component functions and how to conduct emergency procedures in case of defects or accidents.
• Ability to perform vehicle inspections and operate a fire extinguisher.
• Strong focus on cost-effectiveness and vehicle efficiency.
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• A clean criminal record is essential.
