Key Responsibilities: What You’ll Be Doing as a Code 14 Driver

  1. Loading and Unloading Products
    • Safely load various products into haulers and distributors, ensuring each load is secure and balanced for transport.
    • Offload products at client premises or distributor sites with precision and attention to detail.
  2. Following Hauling Instructions
    • Receive and follow specific instructions from the Logistics Manager regarding each trip. This includes understanding your route, schedule, and delivery requirements.
    • Communicate effectively with the Logistics Manager to report any delays, issues, or changes in the delivery process.
  3. On-Highway Hauling with Articulated Vehicles
    • Operate on-highway articulated haulers to transport products. Familiarity with these types of vehicles is essential, as they require skill and attention to detail for safe and effective handling.
  4. Adhering to Routing and Scheduling
    • Follow designated routes and schedules closely to ensure timely deliveries. Your punctuality and reliability will contribute to the efficiency of our supply chain and maintain our reputation for dependable service.
  5. Compliance with Road Traffic Regulations
    • As a driver responsible for handling hazardous materials, you’ll need to follow all road traffic regulations diligently. Compliance isn’t just a requirement—it’s a vital aspect of this job that ensures the safety of yourself, your team, and the community.
  6. Vehicle Maintenance and Cleanliness
    • Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, both inside and out. Regularly wash the exterior to present a professional image, and ensure the interior is clean and free of any hazards.
    • Conduct routine checks on the vehicle’s condition, including tires, brakes, and other essential parts. Any issues should be reported to the supervisor immediately.

    • Follow the prescribed flushing matrix to flush tanks between different loads, ensuring that products remain uncontaminated. This step is essential when transporting hazardous or sensitive materials.
  9. Customer Service and Professional Conduct
    • As a Code 14 driver, you’ll frequently interact with clients and their teams. Conduct yourself professionally at all times, displaying courteous behaviour and a willingness to assist where needed.
