Position Overview

Enaex Africa is seeking a skilled Code 14 Driver to support our customer service strategy by ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of explosive products.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in compliance with safety standards, operational excellence, and maintaining the highest levels of professionalism in transport and logistics.

This role requires a strong focus on adhering to Chapter 6 of the Explosives Act and ensuring seamless execution of deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

1. Delivery Execution:

• Deliver customer orders safely, accurately, and on time.
• Ensure compliance with regulations as outlined in the Explosives Act, Chapter 6.
• Support customers with offloading and coordinating offloading activities.

2. Vehicle Compliance:

• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections daily using a full vehicle inspection sheet before departure.
• Maintain vehicle compliance in line with safety standards and operational guidelines.

3. Proof of Delivery:

• Ensure all proof of delivery documents are accurately completed and promptly submitted to the Administration Office for invoicing.

4. Production Planning and Accuracy:

• Ensure there are no loading errors by conducting a three-way check involving the delivery notes, freight summary, and customer orders against available stock.
• Verify the general appearance and accuracy of all delivery notes.

5. Safety and Work Attendance:

• Prioritise safety in all activities, ensuring full compliance with safety protocols.
• Monitor and manage work attendance, ensuring overtime does not exceed prescribed limits.

6. Magazine Area Maintenance:

• Perform vegetation control and ensure the cleanliness and safety of the magazine area.

Minimum Requirements

Education and Certification:

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Valid Code EC Driver’s Licence.
• Professional Driving Permit (PDP) with a Code “D” endorsement.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience driving vehicles carrying explosives.
• Warehousing experience is advantageous.
• Magazine Master Certificate (CIE) is an added advantage.

Competencies and Skills:

• Strong focus on safety and adherence to regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of delivery and documentation.
• Ability to manage time efficiently and execute tasks under pressure.
• Customer service-oriented mindset to assist customers during offloading.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
