Position Overview

RCL Milling is looking for professional and skilled Code 14 Drivers to join our team in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and efficiency while operating ultra-heavy vehicles.

This role involves transporting goods, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations, and maintaining vehicle standards.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

• Grade 12 (National Certificate).
• Valid Code EC driver’s license with a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience driving ultra-heavy vehicles such as Superlink/Interlink combinations.
• Previous experience with dry bulk or cement transportation.
• Familiarity with vehicle loading and offloading techniques.

Additional Requirements:

• Defensive driving skills.
• Understanding emergency response procedures and defect reporting.
• Knowledge of fire extinguisher operation and vehicle inspections.
• Proven ability to maximise vehicle cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
• Reliable personal transport to and from work.
• Medically fit and able to meet the physical demands of the job.
• Clean criminal record.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Operations:

• Prepare the vehicle for trips and operate ultra-heavy-duty vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Transport goods and ensure secure loading and offloading procedures are followed.
• Handle and complete all required documentation accurately.

Compliance and Safety:

• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and all company safety guidelines.
• Participate in required safety training, including:
  • Medical evaluations.
  • USCS training modules.
  • Induction processes.
  • Practical driving evaluations.
• Maintain a clean and safe driving record.

Maintenance and Housekeeping:

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
• Keep the vehicle clean and report any issues promptly to the supervisor.
• Maintain uniform and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in excellent condition.

Additional Duties:

• Respond to reasonable instructions from the supervisor.
• Be available to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.

• Strong knowledge of ultra-heavy vehicle operations.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and regulations diligently.
• Good problem-solving skills for handling emergencies or on-the-road issues.
• Excellent time management and reliability.
