Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Code 14 Driver at our Tigane-based contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods using ultra-heavy vehicles, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to all safety protocols. Minimum Requirements

• Educational Qualification: Grade 12 (National Certificate)
• Driver’s License: Code EC with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in driving ultra-heavy vehicles
• Vehicle Experience: Experience driving Superlink, Interlink, or combination vehicles for at least 3 years
• Specialisation: Experience in dry bulk or cement transport
• Other Requirements:
  • Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays
  • Sound knowledge of defensive driving techniques
  • Ability to follow emergency and defect reporting procedures
  • Familiarity with conducting vehicle inspections and handling fire extinguishers
  • Ability to maximise vehicle efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Proficient in vehicle loading and offloading techniques
  • Must have own reliable transport to and from work
  • Clear criminal record
  • Must be medically fit

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Vehicle Preparation: Prepare the ultra-heavy duty vehicle before every trip.
• Transportation and Offloading: Load, transport, and offload goods in accordance with company procedures.
• Documentation Management: Handle and process all required delivery and transport documentation.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure that vehicle housekeeping, uniforms, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards are met.
• Adherence to Procedures: Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety regulations while operating the vehicle.
• Team Collaboration: Take on reasonable instructions from the supervisor, ensuring smooth and safe operations.
• Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Vehicle Care: Regularly maintain the cleanliness and safety of vehicles.
• Ongoing Training: Complete medical evaluations, USCS training modules, induction processes, and practical driving evaluations as required.

• Medical Evaluation: Must undergo a medical evaluation and meet the required fitness standards.
• Training: Successful candidates will be required to complete relevant training modules, including practical driving assessments.
• Criminal Record Check: A clean criminal record is mandatory for this role.
