Position Overview
The Truck Assistant will support the driver in the safe loading, unloading, and transportation of glass products. The role ensures that products are handled safely and securely, adhering to company procedures and customer satisfaction standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the driver in loading and offloading glass on level surfaces or as close to them as possible.
• Ensure the load is properly secured during trips according to loading and offloading procedures.
• Inspect the vehicle and environment for the safest loading/unloading locations.
• Complete quality check sheets during loading.

• Support the driver with vehicle manoeuvring in confined spaces or areas with limited visibility.
• Ensure the load is restrained before leaving customer sites.
• Report any property damage promptly.
• Assist with paperwork control and compliance.

• Adhere to all work instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety rules.
• Maintain high housekeeping and environmental standards.
• Perform additional tasks as requested by the factory supervisor.
• Be available for overtime and weekend work when required.

Critical Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Matric Certificate.
• A valid Code 10 or higher driver’s licence with a PDP is an advantage.

Experience:

• Handling and transporting dangerous goods.
• Handling various types of glass products.
• Experience in quality control for glass handling.

Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interactions.
• Analytical and numerical aptitude.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to completing tasks.
• Mobility and ability to travel to the work location.
