Job Overview

Are you a reliable and experienced Code 10 driver looking for a stable job opportunity? The Building Company is looking for a skilled driver to join our team in various locations under our various departments.

As a Code 10 Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers receive their orders on time and in excellent condition. Your main responsibilities will include the safe transportation of goods, supervising loading and offloading, maintaining your assigned vehicle, and providing top-notch customer service.

If you have a valid Code 10 (HV) or Code 8 (LV) license, at least two years of relevant driving experience, and a Grade 12 certificate, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity!

Key Responsibilities

1. Safe and Timely Delivery of Goods

• Transport goods to various locations while ensuring that all deliveries are made on schedule.
• Follow assigned routes and delivery schedules efficiently.
• Ensure all goods are delivered without shortages, damages, or breakages.

2. Vehicle Management and Maintenance

• Conduct daily pre-trip inspections to check for any defects or required maintenance.
• Report vehicle defects immediately to prevent breakdowns.
• Keep the vehicle clean, well-maintained, and in good running condition at all times.
• Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.

3. Loading and Offloading Assistance

• Supervise and assist in loading and unloading goods to prevent damage.
• Ensure that the vehicle is neatly packed and organized to maximize space and prevent movement of goods during transport.
• Confirm that the correct quantities and supplies are loaded for each delivery.

4. Cost Management and Documentation

• Keep fuel consumption within company guidelines to help reduce vehicle costs.
• Ensure delivery notes are properly authorized and signed off by clients upon delivery.
• Collect COD (Cash on Delivery) payments where applicable and ensure that all funds are handled securely.

5. Customer Service and Company Representation

• Deliver goods with a friendly and professional attitude to uphold the company’s values and culture.
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on deliveries when necessary.
• Handle customer inquiries and concerns in a polite and helpful manner.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
✅ Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
✅ Valid Code 10 (HV) or Code 8 (LV) driver’s license (applicable for vehicles weighing between 3,501 kg and 9,000 kg)
✅ At least 2 years of relevant driving experience
✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
✅ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
✅ Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities
