Job Overview

Unitrans is looking for professional and experienced Bus Drivers to operate passenger buses on scheduled services. The role involves ensuring passenger safety, adherence to traffic laws, and compliance with company policies while maintaining a professional and customer-friendly attitude.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (National Certificate)
• Valid Driver’s License (Categories: CE – G, CE – PG, and C – G)
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar position
• Knowledge of defensive and preventive driving techniques
• Familiarity with traffic laws, company policies, and customer service expectations

Key Responsibilities

• Drive passenger buses safely according to set schedules and routes
• Control lighting, heating, and ventilation for passenger comfort
• Ensure on-time arrival of passengers at destinations
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to check for malfunctions or deviations from standards
• Maintain logbooks and trip records accurately
• Report any incidents, near misses, or damages to supervisors immediately
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company regulations
• Follow prescribed routes without deviation unless instructed by a superior

• Ensure vehicles are refueled, kept clean, and well-maintained
• Participate in training sessions and safety meetings
• Comply with Unitrans Passenger rules, SMS policies, and safety procedures
• Prevent unauthorized stops and avoid unnecessary overtaking of company vehicles
• Always wear seat belts and ensure all passengers do the same
• Secure vehicle keys and block wheels when parked
• Drive with a valid driving license and RAC2 card at all times
