🚚 Logistics Transport Planner – PPC, Montague Gardens
Are you an experienced Logistics Transport Planner with a knack for optimising transport schedules and managing complex logistics operations? PPC is seeking a dedicated and analytical Transport Planner to manage the inbound transport of components, optimise route scheduling, and ensure smooth distribution of cement to customers across South Africa.

📋 Key Responsibilities:
Transport Planning: Develop and execute transport plans using the in-house Transport Management System (TMS) to optimise delivery schedules and ensure timely distribution of cement products.
Data Analysis: Analyse TMS output for capacity utilisation, cost management, and route optimisation to achieve operational efficiency.
Customer Liaison: Maintain strong communication with internal stakeholders and external customers to coordinate logistics and manage transport-related issues effectively.
Compliance and Reporting: Monitor operational compliance with transport regulations and PPC safety standards, ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to protocols.
Stakeholder Management: Foster positive relationships with transporters, sales representatives, and manufacturing plants to ensure smooth coordination of logistics activities.
Problem Solving: Resolve transport-related challenges, including vehicle breakdowns, delayed deliveries, and urgent orders, while maintaining high customer service levels.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancement and contribute to cross-functional projects to improve overall logistics operations.
✅ Minimum Requirements:
Education: Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations Management.
Experience: At least 18 months of transport planning experience, ideally in the cement industry.
System Knowledge: Proficiency in TMS operations, including data analysis and transport route planning.
Skills: Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and critical problem-solving abilities.
Availability: Must be available to work alternate weekends and be on standby to address urgent logistics issues.
Transport Regulations: Knowledge of fleet capacity, payload configurations, and safety requirements.
Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and meet tight deadlines effectively.
