Skooch, a proud division of Pepkor Lifestyle, is looking for a dedicated Line Haul Driver to join their transport operations in Polokwane. This is your opportunity to join a dynamic FMCG supply chain team that values safety, efficiency, and professionalism.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty trucks for long-haul transportation between distribution centres and hubs.

• Complete daily vehicle inspections and ensure the truck is in roadworthy condition before and after trips.

• Accurately secure and transport loads to prevent damage or shifting in transit.

• Ensure all deliveries and pickups are done on time, following planned schedules.

• Record all trips using electronic logging devices (ELDs) or logbooks, including kilometres, time, and cargo details.

• Communicate proactively with dispatchers regarding delays, breakdowns, or incidents.

• Adhere strictly to road safety laws, traffic regulations and company transport policies.

• Carry out basic vehicle troubleshooting when needed.

✅ Minimum Requirements

• Valid Code 14 Driver’s Licence

• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)

• 3+ years’ experience in long-distance or regional truck driving

• Proven clean driving record (no major traffic violations)

• Able to work with GPS systems and electronic logbooks

• Good physical health and ability to load/offload and secure freight when required

• Must be punctual, responsible and safety-conscious

⭐ Preferred Advantage

• Prior experience operating trailers for FMCG or freight distribution

• Basic mechanical knowledge for fault detection and basic roadside troubleshooting

• Exposure to fleet-based logistics systems or previous experience in a warehouse-linked transport team

🕒 Work Environment

• Expect long hours on the road and occasional overnight trips

• Shifts may include weekends, public holidays, and night drives
