🏗️ Job Purpose

PPC is seeking a responsible and experienced Mixer Driver to join our Pronto team in Rosslyn. The successful candidate will operate a mixer truck for the delivery of ready-mix concrete to both industrial and residential sites under varying road and terrain conditions.

This role plays a crucial part in ensuring timely and safe concrete deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of vehicle care, professionalism, and customer service.

✅ Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)

• Valid Code EC (Code 14) driver’s licence

• Valid PrDP (Public Driver’s Permit)

• Mixer driver certification (External operating certificate is essential)

• At least 3 years’ experience operating a concrete mixer truck

• Ability to operate different gearboxes (Straight, Semi-Auto, Split Gearbox)

• Proven ability to read, write, and perform basic calculations

• Must be physically fit and able to handle repetitive tasks

• Good interpersonal skills and strong customer orientation

• Demonstrated responsibility, reliability, and integrity

⚙️ Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and pre-start checks on the mixer and truck before use

• Report any mechanical faults or safety concerns to the Supervisor promptly

• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and lubrication standards

• Ensure tyre condition and pressure are regularly checked (Tyre management)

• Deliver concrete safely and on time to multiple sites, including challenging terrains

• Plan and adhere to optimum delivery routes

• Off-load concrete efficiently using the mixer drum system

• Maintain compliance with road traffic regulations, as well as company health and safety protocols

• Assist in drilling/cleaning the mixer drum as required

• Be available for overtime work when necessary

• Build and maintain good working relationships with customers and colleagues
