Truck Driver Vacancy in Meyerton

Midvaal Local Municipality is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Truck Driver – Water Section. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a water tanker, transporting water and materials, maintaining assigned vehicles, and supporting the municipality’s service delivery operations.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Grade 10 qualification.
• Grade 12 will be an added advantage.
• Valid Code EC (Code 14) Driver’s Licence.
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
• Ability to operate and drive a water tanker carrying water loads.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Adaptability and ability to work under pressure.
• Self-disciplined and hardworking attitude.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant truck driving experience.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Driving municipal trucks and water tankers safely and efficiently.
• Loading and off-loading water and other materials as required.
• Executing daily work assignments according to instructions from the Foreman or Supervisor.
• Transporting personnel, equipment, and materials to designated work sites.
• Completing required administrative and operational records.
• Managing and maintaining assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Assisting with other operational duties when driving-related tasks are not available.
• Performing additional ad hoc duties as directed by management.

Salary and Benefits

Salary Range: R210,060 – R236,256 per annum
Job Grade: Level 10 (Grade 04 Local Authority)

Total Remuneration Package: R356,532.96 per annum (inclusive of benefits)
