Unitrans is recruiting a skilled and experienced Ultra-Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver to join its Rainbow Worcester operations in the Western Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to customers while complying with company policies, road safety regulations, and operational standards.

This opportunity is ideal for professional Code 14 drivers seeking long-term employment within a leading logistics and transport company.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric) or Senior Certificate.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Valid Code EC (Code 14) Driver’s Licence.
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) with Dangerous Goods Permit (DGP).
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating ultra-heavy vehicles.
• Must be 25 years of age or older.
• Clean criminal record.
• Good understanding of road safety regulations.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities

Transport and Delivery Operations

• Prepare vehicles for daily trips and delivery operations.
• Operate ultra-heavy motor vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Transport and deliver goods according to customer and company requirements.
• Ensure loads are delivered on time and in full.

Loading and Offloading

• Load and offload goods safely and efficiently.
• Ensure loads are secured before departure.
• Prevent overloading in accordance with the National Road Traffic Act.
• Operate or supervise offloading equipment where required.
• Open and secure tarpaulins when applicable.

Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after trips.
• Report defects, breakdowns, and maintenance requirements immediately.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness.
• Ensure PPE and uniforms are maintained in good condition.

Administration and Compliance

• Complete delivery documentation accurately.
• Follow emergency reporting and defect reporting procedures.
• Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Comply with all safety, transport, and operational regulations.

Customer Service

• Interact professionally with customers during deliveries.
• Maintain positive customer relationships.
• Represent the company professionally at all times.
