AFGRI Retail Is Hiring a Driver in Carolina

AFGRI Retail is looking for a responsible and experienced Driver to join its team in Carolina, Mpumalanga. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of company vehicles, ensuring the efficient distribution and delivery of stock to customers and retail outlets.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals with a valid Code 10 driver’s licence and PDP who have experience operating heavy vehicles and working in a logistics or agricultural environment.

Job Purpose

To ensure the safe, efficient, and professional transportation of stock while maintaining vehicle roadworthiness, supporting warehouse operations, and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport and deliver stock safely and efficiently to customers and retail outlets.
• Ensure all deliveries and related logistics activities are completed professionally.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
• Maintain the roadworthiness and cleanliness of the assigned vehicle.
• Assist with loading and offloading stock when required.
• Participate in stock counts and ensure stock on the vehicle is properly managed and secured.
• Complete vehicle logbooks accurately on a daily basis.
• Report delays, accidents, incidents, or irregularities to management promptly.
• Follow company safety procedures and road traffic regulations at all times.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Valid Code 10 (C1) Driver’s Licence.
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• Minimum of 1 year heavy vehicle driving experience.
• Experience within an agricultural environment will be advantageous.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Knowledge of transport and delivery operations.
• GPS and map-reading skills.
• Basic understanding of farming products and agricultural activities.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Strong understanding of road safety and vehicle maintenance procedures.
