Job Overview

PepsiCo South Africa is recruiting two experienced Long Haul Drivers to join its Supply Chain team in Shakaskraal. The successful candidates will be responsible for transporting bulk and bagged products over long distances, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

This position is ideal for professional Code 14 (EC) drivers with excellent driving records, strong vehicle inspection skills, and experience in long-distance freight transportation.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport bulk and bagged products to customers over long-distance routes.
• Ensure deliveries are completed on time and without driver-related product damage.
• Communicate with dispatch regarding delivery schedules, delays, or operational issues.
• Follow safe driving practices and comply with all road traffic regulations.
• Monitor vehicle performance and ensure fuel consumption remains within company standards.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections before, during, and after trips.
• Check tyres, lights, trailer couplings, oil, water levels, and other critical vehicle components.
• Maintain the truck in a clean, roadworthy condition and ensure all issued equipment is accounted for.
• Report vehicle defects promptly and assist with basic fault-finding and tyre changes when necessary.
• Keep accurate records of fuel usage, vehicle inspections, maintenance, and cargo documentation.
• Remain available via cellphone while on duty.
• Maintain a clean driving record with zero avoidable traffic or speeding fines.
• Comply with company transport policies, legal driving hours, weight restrictions, route requirements, and rest periods.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Valid Code EC (Code 14) driver’s licence.
• Experience as a long-distance truck driver.
• Good knowledge of South African road safety regulations.
• Ability to drive for extended periods.
• Good navigation and route planning skills.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy items when required.
• Good communication skills.
