Job Overview

An opportunity is available for an experienced Long Haul Code 14 Driver in Brits. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting products between company units and delivering bulk or bagged products to customers safely, efficiently and on time.

The role requires a safety-conscious driver with strong long-distance driving experience and a commitment to maintaining the vehicle and achieving high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport products between company units using Code 14 heavy-duty vehicles.
• Deliver bulk or bagged products to assigned customers promptly and accurately.
• Ensure products arrive without driver-related damage or defects.
• Maintain fuel consumption within the agreed operational standard.
• Conduct regular inspections of:
  • Tyres
  • Lights
  • Trailer couplings
  • Oil and water levels
• Ensure the truck and trailer remain clean, roadworthy and in good operating condition.
• Check that all issued equipment and spare wheels are present and properly maintained.
• Report vehicle defects promptly to minimise breakdowns and operational delays.
• Conduct safety inspection stops during long-distance trips.
• Practise safe and defensive driving at all times.
• Carry out basic fault-finding when vehicle breakdowns occur.
• Assist with basic roadside issues, including tyre changes where required.
• Keep the company informed and remain available on a mobile phone while on duty.
• Comply with road traffic regulations and company safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean driving record and avoid speed- and traffic-related fines.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Valid Code 14 driver’s licence.
• Proven long-distance driving experience.
• Good knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle operations and basic vehicle checks.
• Strong commitment to road safety and vehicle care.
