Job Overview

BUCO Somerset West is looking for an experienced Medium/Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver to provide safe, efficient and reliable delivery services to customers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods in excellent condition, assisting with loading, maintaining the delivery vehicle and providing professional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver goods safely, accurately and on time.
• Ensure the vehicle is properly and neatly packed.
• Prevent product damage and breakages during transportation.
• Supervise and assist with loading and offloading.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspection checks.
• Report vehicle defects and maintenance requirements.
• Maintain the vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition.
• Ensure customers receive the correct quantities and products.
• Complete and manage delivery documentation.
• Assist with delivery note authorisations.
• Collect COD payments where required.
• Provide professional customer service.
• Help reduce unnecessary vehicle operating costs.
• Uphold and promote the company’s values and culture.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Valid Code 10 Heavy Vehicle (HV) driver’s licence.
• Code 8 Light Vehicle (LV) licence may be applicable to vehicles below 3,500 kg.
• Suitable licence for vehicles in the 9,001–16,000 kg category.
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant driving experience.
• Good understanding of safe vehicle operation and delivery procedures.
