Job Description

iLembe District Municipality is recruiting 31 Heavy Duty Drivers to assist with municipal transport operations and water delivery services across the municipality.

The successful candidates will be responsible for operating heavy-duty and extra-heavy-duty vehicles, including the delivery of water throughout the municipal area.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be required to:

• Operate heavy-duty and extra-heavy-duty vehicles safely.
• Deliver water throughout the iLembe Municipal area.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and authorised officials.
• Perform additional duties as reasonably assigned.
• Carry out tasks required to support municipal operations.
• Work safely and responsibly in different weather conditions.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• NQF Level 1 / Grade 9.
• A valid EC (Code 14) driver’s licence.
• A valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• 6 months to 2 years of relevant driving experience.

Required Competencies

Applicants should:

• Be able to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
• Be physically fit and able-bodied.
• Be willing to work in all weather conditions.
• Be willing to work outside normal working hours when required.
• Be prepared to undergo competency assessments as part of the recruitment process.
