Job Overview

BUCO Ermelo, part of The Building Company, is looking for an experienced Forklift Driver to join its team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely loading and offloading heavy and bulk deliveries using a Hyster forklift, forklift or sand loader, while ensuring goods are correctly handled, stacked and stored.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Valid Forklift Driver’s Certificate
• Minimum 2 years’ forklift driving experience
• Ability to safely handle heavy and bulk materials
• Good understanding of goods handling and storage procedures
• Customer service skills

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the forklift safely and efficiently.
• Load and offload heavy and bulk deliveries and supplies.
• Use Hyster forklifts, forklifts and sand loaders as required.
• Interpret and work with invoices to ensure the correct goods are handled.
• Ensure goods are correctly located, stacked and packed.
• Maintain the forklift and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
• Follow safe operating procedures when handling and moving goods.
• Assist with maintaining an organised and safe working environment.
• Provide professional customer service when assisting customers with goods.
• Uphold and promote The Building Company’s values and culture.

The ideal candidate should be an experienced and safety-conscious forklift operator who can handle heavy and bulk materials efficiently. Attention to detail is important when interpreting invoices, locating stock and ensuring goods are correctly loaded, offloaded and stored.
