Job Overview
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Petroleum Tanker Driver to join our team. This role requires a professional driver to operate a motor vehicle with a gross vehicle mass or combination mass exceeding 25,000kg, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of petroleum products.
Key Responsibilities
- Trip Preparation: Ensure the vehicle is ready for operations by conducting thorough checks before departure.
- Vehicle Operation: Drive ultra-heavy-duty vehicles in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.
- Inspections: Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Documentation: Handle dispatch documents and customer delivery records efficiently.
- Accountability: Maintain responsibility for all transported goods and ensure accurate delivery to customers.
- Compliance: Adhere to road safety regulations and company policies.
- Work Schedule: Be prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Supervisory Instructions: Follow all reasonable instructions from your supervisor to ensure operational success.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Education: Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4 or Grade 10 / NQF Level 2.
- License: Valid Code EC driver’s license with PrDP (category “D” if required for Dangerous Goods vehicles).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a petroleum tanker driver.
- Safety: Proven safe driving record and a clean criminal record.
