This role, based in the Kalahari region, offers a chance to join our dynamic Packaged Gas department on a fixed-term basis. Key Responsibilities
As a Cylinder Truck Driver, you will be entrusted with several critical duties, including:
- Vehicle Checks: Performing thorough pre- and post-journey inspections to ensure your vehicle is roadworthy and in top condition.
- Loading and Offloading: Safely managing the loading and offloading of gas cylinders, ensuring they are secured properly for transport.
- Delivery and Collection: Ensuring the safe and efficient delivery and collection of Packaged Gas to and from customer sites, adhering to all safety standards.
- Housekeeping: Maintaining cleanliness and organization of your vehicle, adhering to strict housekeeping protocols.
- Compliance: Upholding SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, Quality) standards, ensuring all safety regulations and company policies are followed.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Minimum of a Grade 12 certificate.
- License: Valid unendorsed EC Drivers License with PrDP.
- Forklift License: Must have a valid Forklift license.
- Certification: A valid Dangerous Goods Certificate is required.
- Experience:
- At least 5 years of heavy-duty driving experience, with a focus on the transportation and handling of Dangerous Goods.
- Experience in creating detailed reports on vehicle fitness and delivery documentation.
- Transport: Must have reliable personal transport.
- Physical Fitness: Must be medically fit for physical labor.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime when necessary.
- Communication Skills: Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
